As The 2023 season of The Block nears the end, the Blockheads had the chance to redo a room of their choice to rectify past mistakes and win over the judges with a refresh of their less favoured rooms. Teams chose rooms to maintain their home's overall cohesion, fix weather damaged areas or improve plain and simple design disasters.
With two rooms on the cards in one week, time proved to work against some teams while others thrived.
Eliza and Liberty knuckled down and came out on top, with a huge home improvement on their studio and a bathroom that spoke sweet nothings to the judges. The girls earned the “bravo” from Shaynna and we were equally impressed with the makeover the room had. We were also very happy to say a much-needed goodbye to the roadmap wallpaper. If critiques were demanded, we would have liked to see the room finished with a rug for a more complete look however our Marco throw and cushion still stole the spotlight in our eyes.

Leah and Ash had a change of heart, transforming what was a dark and moody home office into a fourth bedroom with plenty of personality, winning over the judges and scoring them second on the leader board. The styling change was a better fit for the eclectic home and an improvement we much preferred too. The additional bedroom is likely to win over buyers on auction day.

Steph and Gian were robbed of a higher place, coming in third with not one but two beautifully executed bathrooms. It was a surprise they chose to redo their main bathroom and perhaps not fix design flaws in the living room, however, the east-to-west vanity change was monumental for the home. The Japandi aesthetic has been an Eadie favourite throughout the season.

Another harsh placing in our eyes put Kyle and Leslie in fourth place after the pair opened up the divide in their living and dining space, bringing in new light and creating a highly functional space. This was an important makeover for the pair to execute to ensure high bidders on auction day, but they never let us down on the styling front. Our Jute Palma Set paired back effortlessly with the Marco cushions for a natural, luxurious feel.

An unfinished redo bathroom left Kristy and Brett feeling deflated and of course, landed them last place. It was an odd choice for redo week being that it was already a stunning space but from what we could see, the change is set for a cohesive look to flow through the home.
